Norcross, Georgia (April 27, 2020) – Throughout this public health crisis, PruittHealth has been quick to implement a series of proactive measures to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19. As soon as a PruittHealth location receives notice of its first presumptive positive COVID-19 patient, the center is immediately placed on an internal Alert Code Red status.

Under the guidance of public health officials, PruittHealth activates its enhanced infection prevention protocols upon escalating to Alert Code Red, including a variety of proactive measures to ensure the health and safety of its patients and employees. Below are a few of many steps the organization has taken to safeguard its patients and employees during this pandemic:

  • Air scrubber and filtration system installations
  • Isolation units and walls for containment
  • Kiosks for daily screening of staff and patients
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) sourcing and allocation management
  • Employee required infection control training
  • Aggressive COVID-19 testing, upon availability
  • Transparency data on its Emergency Preparedness webpage, including each location’s patient test results and cumulative deaths that have occurred within the organization’s skilled nursing centers of presumptive positive COVID-19 cases
  • Emergency Operations Center (855-742-5983) open 24/7 for employee and patients’ family questions
    • Family video chat scheduling is available by calling 855-742-5983. In fact, the organization has scheduled more than 7,000 video chats between PruittHealth patients and their loved ones.
  • Physicians with patients currently under PruittHealth's care are encouraged to continue connecting with patients via the telehealth system
  • Cleaning frequency is increased significantly
  • Communal activities are postponed
  • Visitation is ceased

PruittHealth’s highest priority continues to be the well-being of its patients. Patients, family members, or employees with questions are encouraged to contact the Emergency Operations Center at 855-742-5983.
