Overview
PruittHealth - Parkwood is a privately-owned Intermediate Care Facility for individuals with Intellectual Disability (ICF/IID). Our staff is specially trained to assist our clients with their daily needs, while also encouraging each other to be as independent as possible. Residential programming is designed to include a wide range of stimulation for each client, with an individual program plan developed by the Interdisciplinary Team. This plan identifies the client’s strengths and limitations and is designed to outline the most effective use of time. Physical therapy, medical and psychiatric services, nursing services, social services, parent training, music, recreational therapy, and sensorimotor development are all provided. Clients are encouraged to participate in community and recreational activities. Parents, guardians, and representatives participate in their client’s lives by helping to develop plans of care and to maintain contact with their loved one through letters, phone calls, visits in the facility, and therapeutic home visits. Our campus is comprised of two buildings. In our main building, we are home to clients who function within the severe to profound range of Intellectual Disability. These clients follow a 16-hour schedule that is tailored to their individual needs, as well as to teach them the skills necessary for them to function as independently as possible.
Our annex is home to clients who function within the moderate range of Intellectual Disability. These clients also follow a 16-hour schedule tailored to meet their needs. In the annex, we focus on intensive daily living skills and vocational training. We also coordinate with businesses in our community to provide job placement and coaching as appropriate.
