Norcross, Georgia (December 9, 2020) – Georgia War Veterans Home (Milledgeville, Ga.), Laurel Park (Stockbridge, Ga.), North Carolina State Veterans Home – Black Mountain, North Carolina State Veterans Home – Fayetteville, North Carolina State Veterans Home – Kinston, North Carolina State Veterans Home – Salisbury, PruittHealth – Blythewood (Columbia, S.C.), PruittHealth – Magnolia Manor (Moultrie, Ga.), PruittHealth – North Augusta (S.C.), PruittHealth – Orangeburg (S.C.), PruittHealth – Palmyra (Albany, Ga.) and Sadie G. Mays Health & Rehabilitation Center (Atlanta, Ga.) are now operating at Alert Code Red status, with at least one presumptive positive COVID-19 case in the centers or transferred to a local hospital.

Due to recent surges, communities across the Southeast are experiencing an increase of COVID-19 cases. PruittHealth continues to follow the latest guidelines from public health officials and implement infection control procedures for the safety of its patients and staff. The organization has been in communication with the affected individuals’ families, physicians, and local health departments.

By initiating Alert Code Red status, the centers will continue to implement enhanced infection control protocols, including but not limited to, increasing cleaning frequency, limiting communal activities and screening staff and patients daily.

The centers will also further restrict staff to only essential personnel and limit new admissions. PruittHealth continues to urge staff to avoid contact with those who are sick and consult with a physician if they do not feel well.

PruittHealth is closely monitoring all patients who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Patients’ families or staff with questions or concerns related to COVID-19 should contact the PruittHealth Call Center at 855-742-5983 to speak with a member of the organization’s team of healthcare professionals.
